Ramadan starts August 22
According to MindaNews, Ramada – an Islamic religious observance that takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar; the month in which the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad – will start this Saturday, August 22.
Ramadan will begin Saturday as the crescent moon was not seen Thursday evening.
The Darul Ifta here announced at 8:12 p.m. in Suara Mindanao, a radio program at DXMY, that the crescent moon was not visible after sunset so fasting will start on Saturday, August 22
The month-long Islamic fasting is observed by more than one billion Muslims around the world, according to Ramadan on the net.
