Proposed projects for Davao

I was wondering around the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) website and i stumbled upon some proposed projects for the entire country. I’m posting here some of the proposed projects for Davao.

Construction and Equipping of Cancer Center in Mindanao

Proj aims to provide adequate, accessible & affordable cancer care from early diagnosis to hospice care of terminal cases thru the construction of a cancer center facilities that will provide quality accessible, affordable cancer care to patients of Region 11 and the rest of Mindanao

STUDY ON DAVAO CITY URBAN TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The Study invloves the ff: (1) Assessment of Existing Conditions; (2) Formulation of Urban Transportaion Master Plan up to 2020; (3) Formulation of Medium-Term Urban Transportaion Development Plan; (4) Conduct of F/S on some Selected Priority Projects; and (5) Establish a Simplified Planing Methodology.

INVOLVES ANALYSIS OF PRESENT TRAFFIC DEMAND CHARACTERISTICS AND ESTABLISHMENT OF URBAN TRANSPORTATION DATABASE.

Note: This project has been APPROVED BY NEDA/ICC/NEDA BOARD. But is still pipelines.. meaning.. set aside. 😛

THE STUDY ON FLOOD CONTROL AND URBAN DRAINAGE PROJECT IN DAVAO AREA

The scope of the study involves the Master Plan Study and the conduct of a Feasibility Study on the most urgent flood control and urban drainage project identified in the master plan.

The Study aims to attain sustainable economic development of Region XI and Mindanao and to contribute toward the escape from extreme poverty and the consolidation for peace in the region of Mindanao.

Notice the last paragraph above. I think building of flood control and drainage is a far factor in attaining peace and making the region esccape pverty. But yes, it can be a factor… 😛

This are good projects. And i hope all of this will materialize.
