BIR closes 6 Banoks branches
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has closed 6 shops of the popular Davao resto, Banoks.
According to inquirer.net:
Nestor Valeroso, BIR Southern Mindanao director, said the Banok’s chicken house owed the government “over a million pesos” in unpaid taxes.
He said the underpayment was uncovered during surveillance operations under the BIR’s Oplan Kandado.
A simillar incident happened last year and was reported by Sun Star Davao. Manuel Paul Villanueva, president of the Banoks chain of restaurants, then said “There was a delay in some of the requirements asked for by the business bureau,”
Well, maybe they just missed the deadline again this year?
