A “quake-y” Christmas in Davao

December 25, 2008

I’m here in Manila for the holidays. But while I was talking to Mindanao Bob, he informed me that he felt the earth move.

It took the USGS about 20 minutes to post about the magnitude 6.2 earthquake.

Magnitude:  6.2
  • Thursday, December 25, 2008 at 03:20:29 UTC
  • Thursday, December 25, 2008 at 11:20:29 AM at epicenter
  • Time of Earthquake in other Time Zones
Location: 5.772°N, 125.535°E

Friends in Davao said they got a bit dizzy. But no one got hurt or no damage was reported. It just made this “a Christmas to remember”……

Hi Migs – Yep, it was a Christmas to remember! Back in 2002 when I lived in GenSan we had a 7.2 earthquake on New Year’s day! Something about the holidays, I guess!
