Lets go Scuba Diving!

August 5, 2008

This is the first of my two part post about scuba diving..

I don’t know how to swim.. but i went on scuba diving! wahahhahaha..

I really thought i would drown.. but i didn’t.. and it was a lot of fun! See my picture above? Never in my whole life did i imagine putting on a scuba gear and diving 20 meters below sea level and touching the corals and seeing NEMO in in the flesh! hahahahha

Ok.. so let me tell you my scuba diving adventure…

There are several diving companies here in Davao. But my friends said that they wanted to try out a different one so we head on to Wind and Wave Davao.

Their office is located at Sta. Anna Warf. Its on the right side immediately after entering the gates of the warf.

I sugegst you go there early as in before 7am so that you’ll be the first to sign-up or better yet call them up for a reservation (will give contact details later).

We took their Diving 101 package which includes the use of the diving equipment, a diving instructor and lunch. They won’t be serving snacks so i suggest you bring with you some food.

You need to signing up, pay and get your boat and dive pass – which also serves as your name tag.

– you should head on to the boat (ask them where it is parked (is parked the right term?). I suggest you secure the middle seats as it is where the food will be served later. =p

You’ll have to wait for the other participants. As you wait, I suggest you put on a big amount of Sunblock lotion. And also, you should bring spare clothes and also a jacket. I know its hot out there but once you get out of the water after your dive, you’ll surely feel cold. If you have a diving suit with you, i suggest you bring that too. For skin protection and for a better looking picture.

My friend asked wind and wave why they don’t provide diving suits and they said that it was not sanitary to do so. Then i asked if it was sanitary to use the googles and the mouthpiece if it has been used by the first user.. they said it was because the salt water acts as a sanitizer. ummm.. ok… =p

So, my first scuba diving in Davao was truly a great experience thats why I’m planning to do another one again! YEY!

Here’s Part 2

Hi, looks like you have a bit of fun right there. Just wondering why the diving company wouldn’t let you don wetsuits and why unsanitary? The wetsuit would have given you insulation and some protection. But anyways, you did have a great time!

They should have lent you guys wet suits. Dapat kasama na sa package. Like what scuba gear said it will provide insulation and protection. Deep water can be very cold kaya kailangan naka wet suit talaga.
