Samal Island is known for beautiful beach resorts. One place i like the most is Canibad Cove. There’s also talikud, isla reta, and other spots great for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Contrary to what many Know, Samal Island – Island Garden City of Samal – is not part of Davao CIty… But its in the Davao Region.
This April, Samal Island will be celebrating one of the colorful festivals in the small, yet rich in culture island, The Caracoles Festival.
Caracoles Festival – Caracoles de Samal – is a festivity of the bounties of the sea and the richness of the social and cultural heritage of the island. The celebration is usually done in the 28th to 29th of April. For many years, the celebration had attracted more than 60,000 spectators all over the world. The festival is also said to be among the three festivals that are promoted by the Department of Tourism in southern Mindanao. Source.
Unfortunately, i won’t be here in Davao during the festival. I will be having my vacation in Manila. But there’s another festival that is celebrated in Samal Island, the Pangapog Festival happening in August.
