3G iPhone Day in Davao

Today marks the Launching of one of the most awaited gadgets (in history?)… the iPhone 3G.

Made a quick stop at 2 Globe Business Centers here in Davao City to check how the iPhone is doing…. well.. ther are displayed… =p

It seems that the hype did not reach Dabawenyos.. or maybe they are all busy with today’s events as Davao is celebrating Kadayawan Festival.

I got the chance to do an interview with one of the staff of Globe Business Center at Victoria Plaza Mall. See the video here.

I’m not sure if people are really lining up on other Globe Buisness centers…I’m still waiting for word from Cebu on how the iPhone sale is doing on its first day.

In Manila, according to Yugatech, they even had a pre-launching last night where around 600 iPhone 3G units have been sold in 3 hours.

So, do you have an iPhone 3G?

  2. Im a Davaweño in Gensan. Davaweños have the tendency not to be as hyped up as in other regions specially like in Manila where product launchings are typically a big deal. People in Davao tend to be more reserved but mind you, they do know what is happening around. Give it a few days, weeks and you’ll see what I mean. Iphones will be all around. Madayaw!

  3. Hi Migs. I noticed that searches about gadgets like cellphones are very high in Davao (of all places in the Philippines). Given that, folks there may catch up soon.

On the other hand, there are phones today that almost serves the purpose of the iPhone and maybe that is why they are sticking to it.
