Davao Summer Fever: Fruits in Davao

I really like this time of the year here in Davao. It’s when most of my favorite fruits are in season… well.. its the start of their season.. I can tell because prices are still high. hahhahaha

Here are some of the fruits here in Davao and their prices..

Lansones

has lots of variants but my favorite is the one that is small and sweet.

Current Price: From P25.00 to P40.00 per kilo

Rambutan

There are different variants of the rambutan. What i like best is the “maharlika” variant because all the fruit is peeled off from the seed like the pic you see below.

Current Prices: P30.00 to P45.00  per kilo

Its the same as this fruit called Pulasan which is found in Malaysia. The only difference is the outer “shell” which is harder than that of the rambutan.

Durian

Like other fruits, this KING OF FRUITS have many variants.. But dabawenyos like the native durian.

Current Prices: P50.00 to P80.00 per kilo and depending on the variant.

Mangosteen

This fruit is fastly being known as a medicinal fruit. check out the pic source for more info.

Current prices: P70.00 to P90.00 per kilo

Pomelo /Suha

Current Prices: P35 .00 toP90.00 per kilo (depends on the variant)

Pineapple and banana is quite common here and anywhere so no special mention on these fruits.. heheheh

You can also buy these fruits in Manila… but double the price! Well that’s due to transport cost actually. You can also buy them in supermarkets packed and ready to eat..

now where to buy fruits in Davao? Well they’re everywhere.. now that you know the prices… its up to you if you’d look for the one selling it cheap or buy the fruit from the first store you go to.

  2. nice set of pics. that lanzones looks sweet never tried durian though. maybe when i visited davao i should try it
