After his experience with a traffic enforcer trying to extort money (kotong) from him in exchange for not taking his license for a supposedly traffic violation (LTO Chief kinotongan ng Traffic enforcer), LTO chief Alberto Suansing was mistaken for an applicant wanting to have a driver’s license and thus was offered “faster processing” by fixers outside the LTO office!
I took a picture of the article from the newspaper Philippine Star.
And it happened twice.. and on the same day.. but at different LTO office. He said that more fixers approached him at LTO’s head office in East Avenue.
He has ordered the crackdown for fixers. He also ordered putting surveillance cameras at LTO offices to catch fixers.
I thank Mr. Suasing for doing this. Maybe its all publicity but its the first time (based on my recollection) that i’ve heard of some moves being done to clean the LTO. I hope Mr. LTO chief will continue this fight. But i really won’t be surprised if after 3 months, those fixers will return. =p

Wow! That’s really cool. I admit I rarely read the newspaper, but this is fascinating! Just imagine, being caught by the Chief doing the “fixing” thing. Good for them. Hmph.
